Seymour set off to explore more of beautiful Van Dusen gardens.
From his vantage point at the top of a hill, Seymour spotted Van Dusen's large maze (made from 3,000 pyramidal cedars) and decided to investigate.
He entered the maze feeling confident and adventurous ...
... however despite the amazing experience, poor Seymour was exhausted when he finally found the exit.
He dragged himself through the gardens, stopping now and then to rest and read about the plants that interested him most.
Having spent a great deal of the day feeling lost (he'd thought he'd never find his way out of that maze!) and alone (although he reminded himself, with appologies to John Donne, that no snail is an island) he wandered off the beaten track until he found an appropriate spot to spend the night.
