When Seymour awakened the next morning, he needed to recentre himself and he decided to visit a spiritual place to do so: he crawled to the totem poles in Stanley Park and soon fell into a dreamy or trance-like state in the heat of the mid-morning sun. He saw many strange visions and signs ...
One of the totem poles spoke to him in a deep and solemn voice: It told him he must return to the place of rushing water...
and in his mind, Seymour returned to the fish ladders at the Salmon Hatchery.
The baby salmon were all pointing in the same direction and Seymour realized this was the direction in which he should travel to find Pierre ...
... but then he saw another sign, pointing in the opposite direction, so he followed it ...
... the next sign turned him around again (although he much preferred Lewis Caroll to Shakespeare)...
... but what did all these signs mean? Before he could ponder further, his vision swept him away to a lowly place, and poor Seymour was down and out and begging for spare change...
... in his vision, the good people of Vancouver were very generous and before he knew it Seymour was rolling in clover ...
... and was able to afford to dine at a fine restaurant where he ordered a lovely salad of baby greens ... but instead of his salad, the waiter appeared with a evil grin and a plate of ...

ESCARGOT!!!
Seymour awoke from his trance to the sound of his own screaming. He shivering from the horror of it all stagger-crawled out of the park, miserable to realize he was no further ahead in his quest to find Pierre than when he'd first started.
